Hello,
Seems we have crowning in our hardwood floor in the kitchen only. It was recently redone, but the crowning is just near the sink and dishwasher. I do not see nay leaks from either. There is a vent that comes under the sink that runs continuously. Could this be a culprit? Could an occasion little spill of liquid onto the floor be the reason. From what I can tell there has been no huge leaks.

From your description, I would say moisture is the culprit, be it from the vent or from the sink.
