Hi,
Going to install beadboard in our bathroom, and paint a very pale blue above it. My question is whether to paint the beadboard white or to stain it to match the oak vanity. The bathroom is rectangular, on left side, there is an oak vanity with white corian top, large mirror on wall, and white toilet. Straight ahead across the width of the bathroom is a shower stall with clear doors, encased in white ceramic tile and a window above. The wall on the right is divided by a white door that enters into a bedroom/office. There is white/grey ceramic tile floor. Do you think it will be too much white if we paint the beadboard white? too sterile looking? or should we stain it to bring in the oak? Should we leave the vanity stained? or paint it? We live in southern California, the house has lots of white and neutrals and windows, it's very bright and cheery. I plan to decorate with blue towels and sea theme. A friend suggested the white, more California style, everything is neutral.....Would appreciate any suggestions, thanks!

I personally like the white beadboard thing. Clean and classic.

it sounds like with your door being white, that all your woodwork & trim in the house is white. is that right? if so, i'd paint the beadboard white so it's integrated into the "trimwork" of the house.

plus, the vanity will seem more like a piece of furniture in there, being the only stained thing.
