I have a Vista 10SE panel. I have 2 security keypads (1 downstairs & 1 upstairs). The "0" key on the downstair keypad is not working anymore. I would like to replace it myself so that I do not have to pay the exorbitant amount that my security company is asking for. I was told I can replace it with Ademco 6150. How do I replace it without comprimising the programming on my alarm? I already opened my keypad and saw only 4 pairs wires that I need to crimp together.

Unplug either wire from the battery in the main motherboard box, unplug the wall transformer, swap the keypad and power back up in the opposite order. That's it. The programming is not volatile. You don't even have to set the keypad address, the factory default of 31 is the correct one.

I did it in about 20 minutes. Thanks a lot. It was quite gratifying to save money by doing the job myself.

I had a very similar situation but my didn't end well.
I replaced it with the 6150 Honeywell, but since then I'm having 'Check 09' on the display and can't change it.
The whole house but the keypad are wireless.
Do I have to re-set all the stations to 'see/be seeing' by the new keypad?

Thank you
