Glass and Mirrors - Am I able to "glue" wood/metal shelving to a mirror?

Hello!! I need to know, am I able to glue wood or metal-like shelving to a mirror? If so, how? Using what kind of adhesive? I have a HUGE mirror that is glued to my wall, I don't feel the need to take it down, so I was hoping I could just add some shelves for accent. HELP!! Thanks soooo much!!

It can be done if they are very lightweight, shallow shelves only strong enough for little curios. Still interested?

Go to a glass shop, they have or can order brackets that are made to be adhered to mirror.
