best way to install attached pad carpet in a 10x20 room with closet.
carpet tape or staples? Knee kicker or stretcher or both? any suggestions??

By "attached pad carpet", I'm assuming you're referring to cushion back where the carpet and pad are one piece. This sort of material is customarily full spread glued. You don't, however, use a roller on it as with non padded carpet glue downs because it causes it to get all bunched up. Use your hands in an overlapping pattern to work all the air out and then slide your tool box tray over it to help push the material into the glue better. Make sure the tray is in good shape so it doesn't snag the carpet. The stuff can also be installed with out glue by using the normal stretching methods, just not as much tension on the carpet and no tack strip. Staple the edges instead. Since it has the pad attached, the staple marks will show so I'd remove the base, finish the install with the staples as close to the wall as possible, and then re-install the base. I've also installed it as a huge throw rug with no fastening at all and it seemed to work OK.
