I had it installed in Oct, so 4 months old. It is engineered hardwood, 5 in planks, over concrete with a vapour barrier and underlay. In one area I now have about 9 gaps where the boards have moved apart at the ends. This is very stange and I can not figure where it has moved to. This is a very long stretch of floor. goes from one end of my space to another.
Is this normal to have this kind of movement, and is it fixable?

Did you install this yourself? If not, then have you called the installer to come fix?
This does happen with some floors. Sometimes they do not lock the planks into position tight enough.
Yes, most likely this can be repaired. They usually get a mallet and some sort of block to knock the planks back together, carefully.

I called the installer a week ago so am still waiting for him to show up. So I do expect him to fix it. I just can't understand why it would just move apart overnight. He said he was getting lots of calls because of the dry weather. My real concern is that this will be an ongoing problem. Fix one area, then another. I have 1600 sq feet.

Add some humidity to the inside. The heater and low humidity outside will dry wood out enough to cause cracks in the surface if you don't raise the humidity.
I bet your humidity is down aroung 20% in the inside where the ngineered wood is installed
