We have a small bathroom and want to replace the tub with a corner shower stall. We don't like the look of the ABS walls in the shower kits. Is it possible to use the kit's base and doors, but tile the wall instead of using the ABS walls?

And I heard that the ABS walls turn yellow over time. Is this true? Are the other products better (acrylic, etc.)?

Thanks in advance.

Loretta: welcome to the forums! I have advocated many times using a shower base, and discarding the flimsy walls, opting for ceramic tile instead. I have done it for several customers, and they were very happy. You will probably have to do some critical measurements in order to make sure the door unit will fit properly (since you are increasing the wall thickness). Post back if we can help once you make the leap. Good luck with the remodel.
