Temps are single digits at night and maybe 15'-20'F days. I noticed my HP is "noisier" than usual...reverbrating noise through the kitchen walls. The unit sounds good outside and, when in defrost mode, the compressor sounds normal. Suction line is warm/hot and discharge line is warm (slightly). HP is keeping the house to temp and cycles on and off....prob about 1-2 (minimum) hours run time between cycles in the evening with doors opening and closing, people moving about, etc.
I put this unit in new two summers ago and have not had a problem but it has not been this cold since installed. Refrigerant level was good this past Fall when I checked. The unit is installed on one of the plastic pads instead of concrete. I disconnected the unit last night and ran on strip heaters until this AM....reconnected and it sounds fine but I'm still concerned about the vibration/noise...I can feel the unit running/vibration through the ground about 2' from the unit. The vibration doesn't feel catastrophic but I haven't noticed it before now. Two weeks ago it was just as cold....same noise/vibration but once ambient started warming up seemed to sound normal again.
I'm thinking, because the ground is frozen, that the normal vibration is being amplified through the ground and causing my noise....anybody ever experience this and/or does anybody think a problem may be developing?
Thanks in advance!
