Please Help.
I have a working ADT 3000.
I had removed an entry door sensor during remodel.
That sensor was not part of the original entry/exit delay function.
Can someone give me detailed instructions how to reprogram my unit such that this sensor will be included in the entry/exit group?
Thanks,
David

First, do you have a 2-line alphanumeric keypad in the system? You need one to make changes to the zone configurations.

MrRonFL,
I have a two line 32 character alpha numeric lcd display.
I believe this is known as a custom English Display Voice Touchpad.
I have the security code and it functions to arm and disarm the alarm.
However I tried to set the time using the security code and it does not get me into the screen that shows the date. However, I did use the 6321 code and this does get me into the time/date screen, but as soon as I hit the star key the time/date screen goes away.
All of the above was just a test for the usefullness of the security/master code.
Thanks,
David

Ideally, you will eventually want to get a copy of the installer manual (Ademco Vista-20p is what this system is a clone of). Since you are trying to change just one device, here's the basic steps:
Enter programming by keying [installer code] + 8 + 00
enter *56
it will ask "Set to confirm?" enter 0 for no (you may have to press * after entering 0).
Next it will prompt for the zone number. Enter the two-digit zone number for the device you are trying to change followed by *.
It will show a summary screen of the current settings, just press *
The next screen is the one you want. It will prompt for zone type. Enter 01 (you may need to press * to move to the next screen)
From that point on, just keep pressing * until it gives the prompt "program alpha". Enter 0* for no, and you will be back at the zone select prompt. Enter 00, then enter *99. That should change your transmitter to an entry exit zone type.

Thanks,
I will try it as soon as I can.
I downloaded a pdf of that manual yesterday.
As a test, I attempted the "set date/time" function (see previous posting), and I was not able to reset the date/time. Test failed.
The date/time screen disappeared after I hit * . Was I doing something incorrectly????
Any insight???
Thanks,
David

Any valid code (installer or user) + # + 63 lets you set the clock.
Oddly enough, most Ademco panels do not display the time and date unless you program one of the function keys to display the time, and even then it reverts back to the standard display after a few minutes.
Basically, it's not a bug, it's a feature....
