I have a DSC alarm, model unknown, and I am in the UK. After opening the control box, the ready light is no longer showing. The control panel is a 5501.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

a couple of things could be the issue here.
1) there is a tamper switch on the panel housing door and you did not shut it when done.
2) while you were poking around in there you pulled a wire loose from the control panel
my guess is the latter. your keypad should show which zone is not cleared and that is where you will need to start.

It seems to be a common practice in the UK for this type of system to be setup with a latching tamper on the system box door that can only be reset by entering installer programming. If it is typical for these configurations, the installer lockout feature will also be set.
Basically, you will need an installer to clear the tamper.
