First time diy hardwood flooring and don't even know where to begin. Laying hardwood on a 45 starting in a rectangular-shaped room. Where and how do you secure your first boards?

Thanks!

You can start in the middle and work both ways, or you can start in a corner and work out. If you start in the corner, start out a few rows and work back into the corner, as you can top nail along the perimeter on those short boards. This gives you some sight to get it pretty close to an exact 45º.
