I have oak kitchen cupboards that are about 20 years old. A couple of the doors do not remain closed lately when I shut them. I can't see that there is anything wrong with their hinges when I compare them to the other doors. They used to stay closed so I don't understand what is happening.

Do the cabinet doors have any type of catch? Magnetic? Friction? What condition are they in? That age frame easily could mean worn out or broken catches.

Do the hinges have any markings as to the manufacturer?
I recently had a cabinet hinge spring which broke. The hinge had a lifetime warranty. When I contacted the factory, they replaced the hinge.

I'll have to check the hinge for a manufacturer when I get back home. There are no catches for the doors. They just normally want to close tight and seem to shut themselves when they are working normallly.

Try swapping hinges with a door that closes normally to see if that solves the problem.
