It started last November. After our handyman turned on/off the main panel a couple of times, our security system started beeping. After I looked up the manual, I figured out that the battery was not being recharged. I thought that the SLA battery reached its lifespan. But when I put the new battery, it was still beeping. So, maybe, the battery recharing portion of the control panel got broken.
Anyway, I want to keep the system on and I don't need the battery back up. If that is the case, is there a way to disable the bettery recharging? The panel i have is power 832. It was installed before we moved into this house.
Thanks.

No, there is no way to disable the battery charger/monitoring circuit. Check the output of the battery charger. It should be about 13.5 to 14.5 VDC. Also, check your replacement battery. It is not impossible that you got a bad replacement.
There is also a thermal overload device in the battery charger circuit that can fail, and sadly, there is no practical way to replace if it fully fails.

If the power was cut, and the battery was not functioning, check your trouble codes.
Press *2, if zone 1 is on, means battery is low still and if zone 8 is on, means system clock is not set (because power was cut and no backup).
