I want to replace my old thermostat with a new honeywell thermostat. Does anyone know if these (RTH700 series) are any good and reliable?
Also I want to make sure I have the wires / installation correct.
My old wires connections:
G Green Wire
C Blue Wire
R Red Wire
Y Yellow Wire
W2 White wire
O Orange Wire
For the Honey well (heat pump with aux) Installation, it looks like:
G Green
C Blue
R Red
Rc (Jumped to R)
Y Yellow
W2 white
O/B Orange
L Not Used
E Jumped To Aux
Aux W2 (white)
Is this correct for this thermostat?
Also I want to make sure I have the wires / installation correct.

looks good. Be sure and turn the power off first. Before you take the old tstat off the wall. Read all the paper work that came with the new tstat on how to set it

I've seen a few people come back into the store, saying it not working, and I'd asked them if the read the install paper, they say No, I said well, that's why!
These t-stat works for MANY equipements out there now days.

I recently hooked up the RTH7400. My heat pump system also has an electric coil for auxiliary "emergency" heat.
My concern is that on page 8 of the manual it states: The “Auto” and the “Em Heat” system settings may not appear, depending on how your thermostat was installed.
Well, I see the “Em Heat” on the screen when in “System Settings” but I do not see an “Auto” option. Unless it is speaking about the “Fan Auto” option, which does appear, but I think the manual is referring to a separate “Auto” symbol which is not appearing on my screen.
Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a separate “Auto” symbol on screen that is separate from the “Fan Auto” symbol?
EDIT: I learned through Honeywell Tech support that the RTH7400 does not have this function; only the RTH7500 does. It would have been real easy for them to state that in the manual, but oh well.
