Ok, Im educated, am articulate, and have a 1/2 brain,, but I swear,, the DCS Power 832 manual is the worse thing I have ever used... Is there a PC interface for programing the options (or a serial interface that would make it easier)??? I need some help and am looking for a solution,, ....thanks ron

The programming software uses the same terminology and sequences that programming the system by hand requires. It was really made for installers who are setting up multiple, similar systems. It is also a somewhat temperamental piece of software code.
DSC manuals are confusing, even professional installers have trouble with them, so don't feel badly. The trick is you have to use the programming form book and constantly reference back and forth. Having only the installer manual without the forms will get you stuck.

Good evening Ron! Seems like DSC systems are horrible for residential uses. I've seen a lot of people having programming issues with these systems. Glad my Ademco is almost idiot proof.

Actually, DSC hardware is _very_ end-user friendly.
It's the setup and configuration that throws people. Remember, part of how these companies try to control market share is by limiting the training and access to the techinical documents.
The information is all there. You just need to realize that these manuals are not like a stereo system setup manual. Security systems are custom installations by definition, and you have to realize that you have to reference back and forth.
