Hi, I have a question as to how to enroll a Ademco 5804 Watch into a Vista 20 system with a high security wireless receiver (5881 I think maybe). Also how I would program the buttons in. I am kind of new to alarms still, and new to this forum. Hoping that someone can help me out.
Thank you very much in advance.

You have to have a 2-line alpha keypad to access *56 programming. You will also need the install manual for your alarm system model (Vista-20 (se?)(P?).
If you don't already have them, you will need the install instructions for the watch. There are a fair number of steps and you will need the reference.

Hello,
I actually just purchased this watch finally, my last post was out of curiosity. I do have a 6270 screen that I can access programming with the console. I understand that each loop of the watch needs to be programmed as 1 zone for each loop for a total of 4 zones. From what I can tell, I guess I want to use the 5804 regular key fox template 2 as indicated in the manual to perform what I want to do. I would like to arm/away, arm/stay, disarm, and be able to turn on/off a x-10 light in my system. I had ADT install the system with a 5804 kefob initially that does all four of those things. I am hesitant as I do not want to wipe my panel or screw anything up by mistake, but would like to program those 4 things into my panel and watch. I can't seem to figure out how I would program the light control as a loop on the watch? If you could possible give me some guidance as to what steps I need to do in what order from start to finish, that would really help me. I looked in the manual, and still was a little confused. Thank you for you time.

By the way, I have a ADT Safewatch 3000, which from what I am reading is the same as a Vista 20P.

Since you already have one keyfob that you want to emulate, it's fairly straightforward.
Use the *56 programming mode to look at the settings used for zones 49, 50, 51, 52; and duplicate those settings on zones 53, 54, 55 & 56, for the watch buttons. As long as you restrict your programming changes to those locations, you should be fine.
Don't forget that keyfobs have to be associated with a user code to work (read the instructions on adding user codes in the installer manual)

Ok, so I need to enter 4 digit installer code + 800 to enter installer programming. After that I enter*56 right? What would I do to check my existing programming of my existing keyfob? Would I enter zone 49 and then what? is it # or * to look at the settings? After I get the info I need and am done programming, what it the command to exit out of programming so that I can enter using Installer code+800 again at a later time? For the zone types of the keyfob for template 2, it the instructions list zone type 20, 21, 22, and 23. 23 says no alarm response. I assume that 23 would be for the x-10 device? If so, will it ask me which x-10 address I want to control, of is it just device 1 by default? Sorry I have so many questions, I just want to have some more answers before I get into programming so that I won't get stuck on anything.
Thanks
Justin
Thanks

I downloaded the Vista20-P Installation and setup manual. (Starting on Page 38 (5-1). Correct me if I miss anything, but if I am reading correctly, I put in the 4 digit installer code + 800 then type in *56. Then I would type in 1 for set to confirm. then would I type in # or the * to continue to the next screen? for zone type i guess I would say 20 for arm-stay? then choose partition 1, the next step for report code would I say 00 for disable??Then the next prompt should be for input device type. I guess I would choose 5 for Button type unsupervised, then press and release the loop button on my watch twice, then press *, then then press *again. IS this correct to this point I hope? MY next questions are:
1.) I need to do this for each of the 4 loops/zones of my watch right?
2.)How would I exit out of programming when finished?
3.) Does zone type 23 represent the x-10 command I want?
I want to be able to control a light with my watch.
4.)Is there anything special I need to do for the x10 light control programming?
5.) how do I assign a user code to the watch device?
6.) I think the 5804 template I need it template#2 on page 5-7.
Sorry for so many questions. It seems like I get more as I read over the manual.

Now that you have the manual:
In general, when in menu mode programming, the key is essentially the "enter" key.
You need to do it for each button, remembering to change the loop number according to the watch instructions as to which button is which.
You exit menu programming by entering 00 at the zone prompt.
Yes, no alarm response is the correct setting.
The X-10 activation is a little more complicated, as there are multiple ways that the original setup could have been done. You have to know:
Which output function number was used.
Which triggering method was set in *80 menu programming.
Basically, get the basics working, first, then read the *79 and *80 programming instructions a couple of times. It's not difficult to do what you want, but it's not very intuitive.
You can view these things via the summary screens.
Templates are a function of the *58 programming menu (AKA "Expert mode", which is why I'm not pointing you to that section). Templates are just a shortcut for the zone by zone entry method, but it's easier to screw it up, because you skip a lot of steps. Don't worry about templates other than using their zone layout for a model.
The section on system security codes is page 6-4, with the instructions for setting RF zone numbers to a user code.
