I am thinking about getting a Goodman SSZ16024 2.0-Ton 16.00 SEER heat pump for our one story 1100 sq. ft. house. They plan on putting in the registers in the ceiling as the ductwork will be in the ceiling. They explained that because it is forced air that there will be a fluid movement of air from ceiling to floor and it is not a problem to have the registers in the ceiling.

My friend who has a gas furnace with forced air said she does not like her registers in the ceiling because the floor always feels chilled. Do you think the floor feels warmer with floor registers? I now have electric ceiling heat and one of the reasons I am changing is that the floor is always cold.

Thanks for your time.

Ceiling vents are great for cooling but not so great for heating.

Its all in what kind of registers and where they are placed is what makes a good job or bad. Dont know just what you have there. But most of the time we run the register runs to near the outside walls blowing down. Cold air return centered in the home or small ones on inside wall of the home.

Do you think the floor feels warmer with floor registers? I now have electric ceiling heat and one of the reasons I am changing is that the floor is always cold.
Well if you have a basement or crawl the duct and furnace down there will make the floor warmer
