I moved to a place with a pre existing DSC 1555 alarm system. I have read amost all of the posts here and have defaulted the system, turned on the resistor less feature so the lights went out, tested and all is fine. I want to program the system to call my office and not a monitoring company. The phone wires were cut where they come out of the DSC box. I programmed in my number using *8 code [301][xxxxxxx00000000000000000000000] and however many zeros it took to fill up the available space. I could not get it to accept the number unless i filled the remaining spaces with zeros. Is this correct? And what do I need to do to hook up the wiring. I know red and green are line in, and ri and ti are out to house. Also I shorted zone 4(telephone) to common so the zone light would go out. I disabled the telephone tampering .*8[5555][015][7] but not the dialer
Do I need to enable something else and how can I check it?

here is a location for an installation manual.
http://www.nextalarm.net/Files/1555im.pdf
Look on page 17 to find out how to program phone numbers....
You will have to set location [360] communicator format options to: 05 pager.
the only way that I know of to use it this way is to use your caller ID on the office phone to see if it is your house that is calling.
Now, on your phone lines. this is hard to explain if you want to do it correctly you should refer to the installation manual page 4.
Let me know if this information helps.....

Thankyou, yes I have the manual and have read page 17 several times. I will re-examine the wiring and have set the field to pager.

The instruction can be misread. All you had to do after entering the phone number digits was press #. Unused digits shouldn't be zeros, they need to be a hexadecimal F.
If you have a LED or Fixed English keypad, just go into programming, go to the phone number section and press # this will reset all of the digits to F's.
Then exit the programming section and re-enter it, and enter your phone number and press # once to enter it and exit that programming section.

That is a big help and I did that at first but it didn't tell me I was a good boy so I wasn't sure. So I will correct it. I thought it said if you press # at any time it will erase all the numbers.
Now I want to move the keypad to a different door and enable the Z zone on the led pc1555RKZ keypad and have it show up as zone 5. Here's what I did.
*8[5555][020][05]
Sure enough after I connected the wires and the door contact to "Z" and "B" it works. I enabled chime *4 . All of my other contacts chime except zone 5. The manual says I must enable attributes and definitions, so I set the zones to
*8[5555][001][01-03-03-03-01-03-00-00]##
OK so zone five chimes now, however it does not delay even when I set it to 01. There must be more to setting the attributes on the keypad zone than meets the eye.
That additional zone on the keypad is a really cool feature because if you move it you may not have the extra wiring in place for a door contact.
Question is, how do I get only zone I and 5 (door zones) to chime? Or rather remove the chime on 2,3 and 4. Also to get zone 5 to delay.
I think it maybe something like this for zone two
8*[5555][102][03][yynYnynn]
I'm not sure if this sets all no delay(03) zones to no chime. I'm probably way off here and also don't know yet how to enter hexadecimal numbers.

OK so I reprogrammed the motion sensor to 05 and that stopped the chimes.
It doesn't matter if the glass break chimes and it is probably a good thing if the phone disconnect chimes.
*8[5555][001]01 05 03 01 01 00 00 00
1=back door
2=motion
3=glass break
4=phone tamper
5=front door keypad zone
My only problem left is the keypad zone still has no delay though it does chime as if it were a zone 01
I thought I might have made a mistake assigning the keypad zone to 05 by doing
*8[555][020][05] so i redid it to *8[555][020][01]. Bad mistake. That just moved the keypad zone to zone 1. So i moved it back to *8[555][020][05] .
Now mt zone one does not work. I tried reseting with *8[555][902] but that did not work. I powered the syatem down to no avail. Do i need to default the system to get it to recognize zone 1 again?

Ok, first to fix the keypad zone:
The correct way to assign that zone is as follows:
Go to program
Go to section 020. Assuming that this is the keypad assigned to slot 1, you enter 05 and exit the section by pressing #.
Go to section 001. For the zones you list your best choices for zone type will be: 01 05 04 03 01 00 00 00.
This sets zone 1 as a delay, zone 2 (motion) as interior stay/away, zone 3 (glassbreak) as interior, zone 4 (telco tamper) as instant, and zone 5 (keypad zone) as delay and all others as unused.
Go to section 202 and make sure all 8 zones are turned on.
That should do trick.

That took care of it MrRonFL. Zone 5 (keypad zone) now delays.

I have read that the only way to have the pc1555 call a cell phone is with pager mode. The installer manual says that a pager phone number should end with hex EE. Is the hex F still required after the EE's? Should the phone number be 7 digits 10 digits or 11 digits plus the hex numbers. Can you give an example of how a USA phone number shoulod be input. On top of this I am using a led keypad and am not sure if the # on exit is erasing the number.
Is this the correct format if not please post an example:
*4*(10 digit number)*55*##. Or should *4*(10 digit number)*556*## work from an led keypad? Or should a 7 or eleven digit phone number be used?
thanks,
dash

Use the number of digits that your local dialing area requires. It's a telephone call...
The # only erases the number if it's the only thing entered upon going into the telephone number programming section.
*4* [phone number] *55* ## is the correct sequence.

I moved to a new house with this alarm. Since I dont' know the access code. I read the document that is given here and have tried to reset but did not work. What I did was connect Z1 and PGM then have A/C power connected. Does anyone know how? THanks

If you followed the hardware default instructions and the installer code did not return to 5555, then your panel probably had the installer lockeout set.
(On power up, do you hear about 10 rapid clicks from the phone relay on the motherboard? If so, short of a lucky guess at the installer code, you are stuck)
