We are buying our first house. The roof is green metal. And the main color of the house is white with green trim. I really want to repaint it. But I don't know what colors to do with the green roof. The roof was replace within the past couple of yrs. So we won't be replaceing it anytime soon. Here are two pictures of the house.

Please give me some ideas. Or even programs that I might be able to use to mix and match colors. I have tried some...but they won't let me change the color of the roof. Please help.

If not liking white siding, which is a traditional color with green, you can opt for a creamy white or tan. Both go well with green. I have seen light gray with a green roof. You will still likely want your window trim to remain crispy white. Get some paint chips and study them at different times of the day and on different sides of the house. You can get some sample paints and paint splotches on siding to study at different times of the day. For instance, a creamy white on the front of the house with the mid-afternoon sun reflecting off may appear as plain white. If so, a deeper, creamier color may be desired or a tan. If you are painting over vinyl siding, it is best to stay with a lighter color because dark colors absorb heat and can cause vinyl siding to buckle and ripple.

with a green roof, your house colors are pretty limited. like 12pole said, white, cream, tan, gray are all good choices. i would add pale yellow & pale blue.

you'll need to tie in your roof color somehow, so either keep shutters green & use a contrasting color for trim, or use the green on the trim & use a contrasting color on your shutters.

i would definitely try to use 3 colors though. 2 always seems to look like no effort was given to the choices.

for that matter, if your roof & trim are green, and the house is white, maybe you could simply paint your shutters in a 3rd color (and your front door too) and then you'd like it. the 3rd contrasting color will depend on the exact shade of green you've got (which i can't see....).
