I have two Ademco 5804 keyfobs. What is the maximum distance that the will work? Both only seem to have a range of 5 feet or so. The batteries are +3 volts each so they are good.

from what? the house or the rcvr?
most wireless devices have a range of at least 50ft from the receiver. some will have 300ft.
it sounds like you have some interference somewhere that is cutting down on your distance.

The 5 foot range is within line of site. Go beyond that and there is no response. That includes line of site. Thanks for the come back.

The listed range is 50 feet. Are you testing the batteries under load? Those button type batteries can be tricky to test with a standard meter. The fact that it's both of them leads me to suspect that it may be something unexpected, though.
If all other wireless devices are working properly, then the only thing I could suggest is to try deleting the keyfobs and learn them into the system again. Sometimes it helps.
