HELLO!
Can someone help?
1=Does a 2-speed compressor need a special kind of evap coil?
TXV, 2-evap coils, or other?
2=Is it better a 2-speed compressor or 2 compressors?
Thank you :)

Special evap coil? No
TXV? IMO, TXV is always the better way to go.
2 Coils needed? No
2 speed compressor or 2 compressors? Depends on manufacturer - some go with 2 separate compressors, some use ported scroll compressor, some use a 2 cylinder compressor with a reversing disengager, some use a scroll with a scroll offset actuator. Some of it is marketing hype, some is what a compressor firm settles on and manufactures, some is what's available to the using firm to buy and install. Personally, I don't like paying for extra/unnecessary hardware, so I like the 2 cylinder and the offset scroll designs.

Thank you for the reply:
When the unit runs on lower stage, will the evap coil freezup?
what keeps it from freezing up?, if your using TXV.
On 2 compressor setup, do they need to be the same size?
If not why?
Thank you again for the info. :)
