Does anyone know of a good peice of software that can be used to monitor and control Dish Network recievers? Applications in large homes for entertaining large numbers of people. What we are currently using is more expensive, and I know I can get it cheaper somewhere for my customers.

and I have not used any of this software/hardware before, nor have I done business with these companies. I'm just trying to thow some ideas out and see if I can point you in a direction.
I'm not sure how many satellite recievers/TVs you need to control, but my idea would be an "IR blaster" attached to the computer, then use mutilple receiver units. The fly in the ointment is that usually you can't address each receiver independently. This means that when you send a channel command, all the boxes would respond. The computer would be running something like Girder. http://www.promixis.com/products.php?section=girder
IR Blaster: http://www.mytvstore.com/cat_ir_blasters.html
My best suggestion is to post this on the CocoonTech Forums: http://www.cocoontech.com/ This is a huge home automation site, lots of experts. There may also be some open-source home automation software at Sourceforge.net.
Sounds challenging, good luck!
