We bought our Trane 1200XL dual-fuel heat pump in February 2005. It has worked really well this winter. When I went to the Trane website to see what was new in these units, I didn't see any dual-fuel heat pumps in their list of products. Did Trane decide to get out of that market?

Ask for TAYplus103A Dual fuek kit also needs a OT and with oil needs a plenum switchI just got back from an authorized Trane dealer. They couldn't answer that question. I will pose your question to them.

Ask for TAYplus103A Dual fuek kit also needs a OT and with oil needs a plenum switchIt might be good if I defined my requirements a little better. I'm talking about a single-package dual-fuel heat pump, with an electric heat pump and natural gas heater all in the same box. Same as the DCY048F1H0AF we have now, except newer.

This is what you would use on a gas or oil furnace .With a heat pump A coil and condenser.

Trane has taken this unit off the market for a redesign.

Only package dual fuel unit available at this time is Rheem.

deweyman The heatpumps are the same are will stay the same. The gas or oil furnace is the same . It will be just the control that works them and will say witch one will run is all.

I'm assuming that, at the very least, they will have to up the SEER rating to 13 from the current 12.

deweyman Not sure what you are reading. A dual fuel unit or control has not a thing to do with the SEER or the HSPF of the units . That is up to you and how much you can pay for them. The Trane H/P XL19i now has a SEER of 17.90 and a HSPF of 8.90 The XL16i a SEER of 17.00 and a HSPF 10.55.
