I am having problems figuring out how to paint the small overlapping portion of some anderson sliding glass doors. Any suggestions on how to release the doors so that I can paint that area would be greatly appreciated.

Most Andersen doors that I have seen have a piece of trim stop along the top, interior side of the door. It usually has several phillips screws holding it in place. When those screws are removed, the trim stop can be removed and the operating panel will then tip (top first) into the room, where it can then be lifted off of the roller track.

If that's not the case, then it's possible the door is another style where the doors need to be lifted up as high as possible, then the bottom swings into the room. (sometimes takes two people to do this, or sometimes 2 thin flatbars are needed to help lift the door off the rollers. Not sure if older Andersen's were like that or not. It's something you usually can tell if you can see it.
