I'm just looking for something cheap and simple. I don't have really expensive stuff or anything like that. Couple midrange computers, digital cameras etc.

But I still like to have at least a modicum of security...especially since my new neighbors moved in.

I'm thinking about this one.

On the whole, and based on a quick websearch, it looks to be a low end system in the TV shopping network vein, possibly intended for the overseas market.

You would come out better with one of the basic Simon-3 or Ademco Lynx systems. The initial outlay would be higher, but the system would likely be far easier to work with, and more reliable.
