I would like to program the panel via DSC software and using the DSC PC-Link local download kit DB09. Could someone tell me if it is possible to connect to the new PC1832 panel directly to a computer for programming? I connect my PC-Link cable and have the DLS Software 2002 ready to connect and go to enable the communication in section 499. I enter installer programming, (*8,5555 and then go to 499 and put my installer code in again 5555, and then put the section again 499) and I just get a long beep and it doesn't try to connect to the PC-Link it just is back at what section I would like to enter. I have seen this on another 832 panel but I thought DSC would have this fixed for all the new 1832 panels. I know my cable is good because I can program a 864 just fine. I talked with DSC support and they had me disable 380 option 1 and check my computer comm settings and finally just said the panel is bad. I don't think it is bad because it is brand new and I have seen this on other panels. I would appreciate any help.

They specify that it does. You may need to enable DLS using the *6 command.
It's possible that you are encountering "early adapter" syndrome, and either need a newer software revision, or there is some bug fix that DSC doesn't know is needed, yet.

Thanks for your reply MrRon. I will try the *6 mastercode 6 and see if that does anything. I was wondering how you find the software revision and how to update it?

Update: I tried to do the *6 mastercode 6 but the 1832 panel doesn't like that so I arrowed over to the enable dls software and pressed * and it says it is enabled. I then tried the *8 installercode 499 installercode 499 and it does the same thing just gives a long beep and puts it back into the section question. I have everything disconnected except for the keypad. If anyone has any ideas I am happy to try them.

You find the software version by opening the help menu and clicking on the "about DLS" selection (or something to that order). Make note of the version number, and compare it to the version number required by the panel (in this case it needs to be DLS2002 or higher, based on the manual from the DSC website, which is version 4.1)
