Hello Guys,

I am new to home construction and I am in the market for wood clad windows. We have looked at (and gotten quotes for) - Peachtree 500 series, JeldWen Premium AuraLast, Anderson 400 series, Superior, and Milgard. I live in San Jose, CA.

The windows we are looking at are
1) 30 degree double hung bay window (7040) - fixed center standard colonial internal grids
2) 6' French door - 15 lite internal grids
3) 2 2050 casement windows (8 lite internal grids) and one large fixed window (16 lite internal grid)
4) 6050 slider - 8 lite internal grid

We have been quoted many prices - but what really matter to me are:
1) Are these products the same - I have heard bad things about every one of these products - the worst being JeldWen
2) What would you expect the price tag to be for these windows?

My 1st choice for insulation value is Hurd, they have a quality product with the best glass in the industry, not cheap. 2nd would be Marvin, high quality, also not cheap. The best bang for the buck, IMHO, is Andersen 400, excellent service after, quality products, good prices.
