Old system, yes I know. I have OWNERS MANUAL, PROGRAMMING FUNCTION MAP, and I believe the master code. IC 1310085 B VER.1.81

I say Master Code because entering "9" 3-seconds then code gives flashing ready - armed - zones - trouble lights.

I've long since disconnected the phone line. I have left the power off because years ago I came on with a continuous beep and trouble light.

I just re-connected it which resulted in the same thing after several failed dial attempts. I pushed "*" to quiet it.

Question(s): Can I reprogram this to dial my cell phone.
Or if not, can I reprogram so it quits dialing and becomes only a chime. The chime is working fine, except until it tries to re-dial.

Now if this is lost cause because of age, is the Concord Express the best suggestion for a panel replacement.

Thank you, I know this is an old topic. I am searching the old posts for this answer. Steve in Michigan.

I don't know much about your existing system, but I do know that the Concord Express is a good system.

I have had one for years and have had no problems with it.
It is easy to program and use.

Good luck,

You _might_ be able to turn off the dialer. Several versions of the ADT version of this panel (a modified Moose Z900) were hardwired to call the ADT monitoring number, and there is no way to turn it off. Later versions were less tweaked.

I can assure you that you will _not_ have any luck trying to have this system call a cell phone. It doesn't even have a "pager" format that you could use to fake it, so all it would do is call until it's call count runs out, then go into communication failure.

Thank you for the help.
How would I findout if I can turn off the dialer?

My function guide references

Number to Dial
Telephone 1
Telephone 2
and Downline Loading Options and Callback Phone Number

I can see what they've written down for phone numbers. I would like to stop it from dialing so it does not get the trouble code.

You enter a 0 into programming location 47 (communicator disable and delay). On the models with the hardwired communicator this location doesn't exist, so it wouldn't even let you try.

Mr. Ron

Thank you. This is likely obvious. I am unsure about how to enter programming mode.

I am just guessing. Once the links are blinking, I press "4" "7" then "0" then "*"

Should there be any feedback? Is appears on the function map 047 is "Term./INSTRUMENT [001]"

Hmmm, there are a couple of versions that are more heavily modified. Look through the program listing. If your installer code location is in 181 instead of 255, then what you are looking for will be in a different location.

Look through the listings for "Communicator Enable/Disable" or similar language. It's possible that it's not there, in which case you have one of the models on which the dialer cannot be turned off.

Got it! My function map is different than the Z900. I did get the Z900 manual. Not for reporting, just on site monitoring. Thank you.

Here is a tough one. I am trying to "SHUNT" and interior zone. "#" "4" then armed and ready light flash and zone 4 flashes. I arm the system, zone 4 still triggers an alarm.

I've change zone 4 to be sure it does not include a 32 for priority. I've cleared all shunts "#" "9". humm any ideas

Lastly, is it too late to put a siren on this? I assume I need a siren and driver or can I connect a 12vDC siren direct.

If it's never had a siren installed, then yes, you can install one. Pretty much any 12v siren or siren driver/speaker combo will work just fine.

The ability to bypass/shunt zones can be disabled via programming on these systems. I don't know what the default for the ADT version setup was. "Look for "Disable Keypad Shunting" on your program map.
