I asked this on electrical as well... I am just learning my way around.

So I am looking to replace some outdoor light fixtures that were installed in the inside hallways. The issue is, the outlet box for the current light fixture is on the outside of the ceiling. I am not sure how to move this to the inside of the ceiling so that the new fixture will hang flush to the ceiling. Or if I look for a fixture that would cover the box, would this be acceptable or are there issues associated with this.

By "outside of the ceiling" are you referring to being above the sheetrock? If so, you can purchase extension rings or plaster rings that will bring the level of the box to the level of the sheetrock. I hope I read the post right. If not, please post back and we'll take another stab at it.

Do not post questions in two different forums. It only confuses people, including yourself. The same people read and answer both forums.
