ADT is not a maker of hardware, they have different manufacturers modify systems that they sell under their label.
What is the ADT system model? Different systems require different programming.

By that make and model, I will assume that you are in the UK. From recent posts, typically alarm systems in the UK are strongly protected by installer lockout codes and tamper switches. Here in the US 6321 is pretty much the standard installer code for ADT, so you can try that. If it doesn't work, based on a quick read of the manual, pressing * + # within 5 seconds of power up is supposed to reset the installer/engineer code and master code to the factory default: (9090 and 1234 respectively).
