Hi,
I have a ceiling fan/light where the light does not work. The fixture's power is controled at a wall switch, but there are also 2 pull chains. 1 chain for the fan speed - which works fine. The other chain controls the light off/on. Pulling the light on/off chain does nothing. Power no longer goes to the lightbulb, i guess. My teenage son noticed a broken wire where the lightbulb socket connects to the fan part of the fixture.
Can I rewire the lightbulb socket? If so how.

Yes, this can be fixed. Can you do it? I don't know. What steps are necessary? I don;t know without seeing the problem. You may be able to fix it without needing anything new. You may have to replace wire. You may have to replace the light bulb socket. The answer depends on what is wrong and where it is wrong.

Make sure that you turn the power off and verify that it is off before you attempt to do anything. If you have to take the unit down from the ceiling, make sure you make detailed notes of how the wires are connected.
