Just installed an Ademco LynxRPK-RN system and so far am very happy with it. I would like to add a cellular backup and am looking at the Uplink 1500 and Alarmnet 7845 line. I'm not worried about analog cellular disappearing in 2008- I'll deal with that if and when it occurs.

My question: which is the easiest one to program and install? I was going to go with the Alarmnet but then read something about an external programmer being required. Is the Uplink the way to go?

You are aware that an additional subscription service is required for these?

Yes, I think the monthly cost is worth it. Any suggestions which way to go?

The 7845 is designed to interface with the Ademco products, so it will be the easier of the two to configure for your panel. It _can_ be configured without the external programmer, but you have to be an Alarmnet dealer to do so (Alarmnet does it remotely).

Thanks. Any significant difference between the 7835, 7845, and 7845cv2?

The last one is the most current model.
