Helllo,
I have a Whirlpool EED-251 MM 25.2 Cu.
I was performing the once every ten year dust removel , (yes I know it should
be every year but hell its better that not doing it at all. ) Anyway, the coils
were badly covered up with the dust and hair etc. SO. I sucked up as much as
I could then took a thin fether duster to loosen and then suck up again .
When I was sliding the duster between the coils I heard a distenct change in
the motor just for a sec. However it now seems to run constantly and has lost its cold in the box and the frozen food side. So now the temp is about 62 and we have lost all the food in the fridge.
Is there a reset on the fridge to reset the system to cool again.
I have tried unpluging and then waiting a bit to plug back in hoping it will
reset its self. That did not work either. So can you help me. It was running
fine with no problems up to yesterday when I decided to clean it. now
nothing
Thanks for your help
Kenny

I have an earlier post, but really need a response from someone please!!!
It was posted as (Fridge Help).

I have a Whirlpool EED-251 MM, side by side 25.2 Cu. Fridge.

I have no cooling in the freezer or the cold box. I cleaned the coils and some how must have jammed the condenser fan which is when the problem started.

I have freed the fan now, but the cooling has not retruned.

Could you tell me what I need to do now in order for the cooling to resum, or
what i need to do in order for the cooling to return. Do I need to by another
fridge? I do hope to salvage the one I have if possible..

Thank you so much for your time in my problem.

Kenny

Sorry your thread(s) haven't been answered. :(

No pro but here's some troubleshooting information if it helps any:

from this site: http://www.repairclinic.com/0088_4_1.asp#Level1_2

It says:

"If the refrigerator isn't cool, you need to answer some questions, then see if the compressor is running.

First, answer these questions:

Is the refrigerator completely dead? If so, see “It's stopped completely.”

Is the thermostat knob turned to the proper setting? If not, reset it.

Next, see if the compressor motor is running

The compressor is a football-sized case with no apparent moving parts. It's on the outside of the refrigerator at the back near the bottom. If it is humming or making a continuous noise and your refrigerator is still not cooling, there may be a more serious problem with one or more of several different components, we recommend contacting a qualified appliance repair technician for further help.

If the compressor is not running but you do have power to the refrigerator, there may be a problem with one or more of these:

The compressor

The Thermostat

The overload, relay, or capacitor

The defrost timer

The condenser fan motor"

On that site, there's another troubleshooting information for common problems about "Cooling is poor" that you might want to check out.
