We built a closet in out old cistern space and are ready now to install the shelving and clothes hanging fixtures. The closet measures 75 and 1/2 by 121 and 1/2. There is an eletrical plug in the middle of the long wall, and a six foot wide doorway on the other.

An old 6 foot long dresser is being used as part of one long wall. We are making it higher to accomodate bad backs by rasing it upon a shoe rack which we have built. We plan to put two shelves over the top for other items. We thought it should go on one of the 6 foot walls. THE PROBLEM: We have about 3 and 1/2 inches of space left to the corner and don't know how to transistion to the adjoining wall. If we put the dresser configuration idea on the long wall we will cover our plug. Any suggestions?

This sounds different. Would it be possible for you to upload a few pictures to a site such as photobucket and give us the url so we can see what you see?

Since the dresser is as long as the side walls, and can't fit on one end of long wall without covering plug, I put the dresser on casters and put it in front of the plug. Hangup clotes will go on the two end walls. Surely one rod on one 6 foot wall for hanging long clothes and two rods on the other will take care of my clothes hanging needs. :) Happy New Year!
