Ok, this is coming straight from the wife: our dishes arent clean when they come out of the dishwasher!

- 6 year old GE GSD series (GSD3400, 3600, 3700, 3900 or GHD 3500).

With limited experience in this area, I did some troubleshooting and found the following:

1) the temperature of the water, while stopping it in the middle of a cycle, is about 105 degrees. I think it should be between 120-150?

2) after stopping during the same cycle, I pulled out about .75 gallons of water. I read somewhere that I should have 2.5 gallons of water in the washer?

So, sounds like my water isnt hot enough, and maybe the pressure is low too? I guess I should measure the hot water from the faucet closest to the washer? If the water level isnt high enough, maybe the heating element isnt heating the water? I've checked the spayer and its appears to be free and clear of debris. Oh, and my wife could write a manual on loading the dishes (and I get scolded) so Im sure its not a loading problem. And I also get yelled at for not cleaning them enough beforehand, so thats not the issue either.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

No pro, but since your post hasn't been answered...

from this site: http://www.applianceaid.com/drain_wash.html

it says the temp should be 125-140. In either case you've got 105 degrees, so obviously the water doesn't get hot enough.

Sounds like you did your homework ;)

Here's some info from the above site about how to check the water pressure (just another thing to check out):

"Proper filling - Most dishwashers will fill with water up to and around the heating element, if water is way below the heating element you may have low water pressure or a problem with the fill valve. For low water pressure, try to clean the screen at the entrance of the fill valve, sometimes the fill valve can fail and not allow the proper water into the dishwasher and may need to be replaced. "
