Hi I have a kenmore 90 series electric dryer model 110.69962890.
It's doing two things:
1) When you press the start button it sounds like the motor will humm loudly
but it won't start and then it trips something and the humm stops and the dryer is completely dead till you wait a period of time till something resets before you can retry it again
2) If I wait a period of time sometimes I get lucky to get it started after waiting a period of time before it seems to reset itself. If it I do get it started it will stop after about 10-15 mins in mid cycle
I have replaced the start switch and the vent is clear and clean.
Thanks for any help in advance. I suspect it's the motor or the timer any suggestions?

It sounds to me like the motor is going out. About the only thing you can do is replace the motor. Just make sure nothing is binding the drum or anything caught in the blower wheel in the back. The drum might be difficult to turn because of the bearings going out in the motor.
Depending on how old the dryers is, you may consider replacing the unit. Repairing the unit yourself would be much cheaper than calling a service tech. If you call a technician to repair the unit it will be pricey and make the unit not worth repairing.

Thanks for the reply the drum is hard to turn. and their is nothing stuck in the blower wheel The dryer is 7 years old.
What else will typically go wrong next with a dryer of this age? As the the motor costs $120 and if other stuff like the timer or heating element at some point go then I think I'd be close to the cost of a low end new one I've seen being advertised for $299 and have a warranty. Any opinions or advice? Thanks again.
