I had to break into my apartment after locking myself out. I busted through the wood that held the door in place and the trim. If that wasn't enough my girlfriend leaves her deadbolt key in the house then takes me to work. She comes back home and can't get in. So she busts through the deadbolt part. Now the only thing keeping the door from swinging open is the piece of busted trim i tacked on there. Anyways, i need some advice on how to fix the whole thing. Think of it as if someone shouldered through your door deadbolt and all. Or should i just call the apartment and deal with them fixing it? Any advice would help.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Welcome to the forums. I believe I would get a hide-a-key system for you guys as this will be expensive. First, since it is an apartment, you probably won't be allowed to fix it yourself. Notify the apartment manager so they can get the repair underway. Bear in mind, you will probably have to pay for it.

As much as i want to fix it myself, i realize i have to contact the apartment. Thanks for the insight, i will frequent this site for other questions and answers. Stuff i can get away with fixing. :)
