I know the white and red are the audio out jacks and the yellow is the video out jack that run to the TV.

Now I want to run it through my stereo, I have a green jack called "Y" a blue jack called Pb and another red jack called Pr.on the DVD player. On my stereo I have audio in jacks marked left and right. Could someone tell me how to run the dvd player to my stereo.

Sorry for being the stupid new guy,

Gary

Red audio out from dvd to right audio in on stereo, white out to left in.

The Y, Pb, and Pr are component video outputs. If your tv has the same inputs, you will get better picture quality using these.

Well maybe Im doing something wrong because I tried what you said and I cant seem to get it to work. Ive lost my Owners manual on my DVD player. Anyone know where I may find one? Its a Pioneer DV-250? Actually Ive lost my owners manuals to my TV and stereo also. I just went through a Divorce and she thought it would be cute to take those things with her. Oh well at least I got the equiptment! Just cant make it all work right, just like my marriage.

Are there more than one pair of audio inputs to the stereo? What are they labeld - something like aux, or CD, or phono, or ....?

And are you selecting the correct input? You can't just turn the stereo on - you have to select the input.

You say it doesn't work. What is happening, then? Remember we can't see it nor hear it.
