This is a GE top load washer about 10-12 years old. Recently, we've noticed about 2-3 inches of water standing in the bottom of the washer. We've watched and the water isn't there when a load of clothes finishes spinning. It hasn't happened consistently - sometimes there will be water and other times no water will appear.
My guess is the fill valve is going bad, but wanted to see if there is anything else to consider before I tackle opening the machine up and getting replacement parts.
