How would you make a threaded dowel - to make a nut and bolt out of wood.
I cant even imagine how to do this.

you can buy tap and die sets for that purpose try woodcraft here

The old way is to tape a strip of paper around the dowel to represent the threads and then cut with a chisel. Go with mango man's way unless you're into traditional wordworking.

Thats what I was thinknig about the "old" way. A tap and die never even entered my mind.
But chiseling? That must be a tedious job. How would you do the nut?
