I Have A 36" Zenith Tv 10 Years Old And When I Turn It Off It U Can Hear It Yum For About 5 Mins Is This A Safety Problem. Also It Takes About 5 Mins For The Color To Come In Right When U Turn It On. Thank You George

It is old and failing. Just dispose of it and buy a new set.

Thanks for your help. What would u suggest? I was looking at a 50" samsung rear projection is the 1080 worth the money compare to the 720. The different is about 400.00 dollars. Thanks again George

It depends if you will be using HD. If you get HD through your cable or satellite provider, go with the 1080. Also if you have a Xbox 360, for example, it offers 1080 and you will notice the better performance. It all depends what you plan on using the TV for. If you will only be watching standard cable and VHS tapes, then you will not see any difference between 480 and 1080.

I would not invest the money for a 1080(P) yet. I would also recommend buying a Mitsubushi television seeing they are built by Americans in Atlanta, Georgia. They have great reliability ratings as well.
If you look for a TV that has 1080(I) and 720(P) resolution, you will be happy.
I have a 5 yr old Philips 55" with 720P and the picture is extremely clear.
