Went outside today to set up for new year party and sure enought the fan is not running on the outside unit. I do here a loud humming noise. SO I know something is trying to work out there.

Any ideas on what to look for and how to do it before I bring in the t$1000 dollar army!

I did some reading up and I went outside and jump started it manually but once it goes off it never goes back on again (the fan)

I would try a new capacitor first and if you can manage it, a new fan motor as well.

can anyone give me a thread for a capacitor and fan so I know what to buy

Check on the motor you have there now. Also see what capacitor it has . You want to make sure you get the same Hp, the same RPM and that it turns the same way ( CW) or (CCW).
