look into your electrical service before you make a decision. These often have such great electrical demands that a service upgrade may be required to have the capacity to run them.

I would advise against it. If you just need a trickle of hot water, you won't get any. It needs a 60 amp 240 volt circuit for starters. Look into an LP gas wall hung instant heater. Or natural gas if you have it. Or get a standard 50 gallon or similar electric heater.

As nap said, you need to check your electrical service first, whole house electric units need a LOT of power. Gas, if it is available, is a much better option.

Bosch/Tagaki are the better known brands. Get one that lets you remotely set the tempurature of the water coming out, and is sized based on the maximum number of fixture that might run at one time.

Expect to spend about $1500 for the unit + venting (for gas models), plus installation costs if you can't do it yourself.

60 amps at 240 volts would be a VERY small tankless. The smallest I have seen needs 80 amps, and a beter model good for about 5 gallons per minute many need 120 amps @ 240 volts.
