A friend asked me if I could replace his tub as he is remodeling his bathroom. I have some experience setting tubs and shower pans, mostly new homes. My question is, is there any way of setting a new 5' tub into a 5' wide bathroom without moving any studs? I realize that I will have to measure the p trap and hook up the waste and overflow onto the tub before it is set. then kind of blindly set the tub. That's no problem! But, maneuvering the tub into the bathroom without moving studs seems very difficult. Any tricks? thanks

There won't be a way to get the tub to lie flat without removing studs. If the bathroom were 6' wide, maybe. Once you get it in the door, the angle will be too great to lie it down for install.
