I can find the thin insulation that goes in a oil heater cabinet. You know, the old oil heaters that alot of people had in their living rooms way back when. The heater is is about 36'' high and about 16'' in diameter and surrounded by a nice looking metal cabinet, and has a auto switch and fan at the rear bottom....I just need the kind of insulation that was originally inside the cabinet, or something as good. I bought the heater at a property sale but the insulation has somehow been damaged and needs replacing. The heater works good and puts out a lot of heat, but the cabinet gets hot enough to give a bad burn. It looks like the insulation that came in it was about 1/2'' thick with a thick aluminum foil on the heater side. I have checked at the local hardware store, and at lowes but they have nothing that would work. This is in the fayettiville nc area..Any help would be appreciated, Oren

You could probably use fiberglass duct board. As far as I know, the minimum thickness of ductboard is 1". That being the case, you could cut it down if need be.
