The electronic ignition on my Carrier 58GSC080 furnace lights the pilot light. But nothing else happens except I hear a clicking sound over and over. Eventually, the pilot light goes out and there's a natural gas smell.

Is this a problem I can fix myself? Suggestions?

Should there be some kind of lockout before the natural gas builds up enough to smell?
