I am using an older Sony vcr to record, then playing back on a brand new Emerson vcr. The Sony is screwed up, the picture jumps around on playback on either machine, but I can adjust the tracking on the Emerson so it will play the tapes well enough to watch them. My question is, can this do any damage to the newer vcr in any way? This is important because I won't be able to buy a replacement for the Sony for a while and I don't want to damage the Emerson.

Thanks much,
Harold

You're fine, but why not just record on the Emerson in the first place?

Ok, thanks Mitch. I work a couple nites a wk 3rd shift in a hotel. Once the paperwork is done it's pretty quiet so I watch some sports or movies I've recorded. The Sony is in my home setup and I keep the Emerson at the hotel.

OK, that makes sense.
