We're doing a semi major kitchen remodel, including removing a recessed 2-tube fluorescent fixture. My wife "thinks" she might want hanging fixtures, but we've only got an 8 foot ceiling so we're probably going with recessed.

I was thinking the bigger ones and just putting in two or three cans, she thought maybe the smaller ones would be better. Either way what kind of spacing is best for a kitchen?

It's about 14 X 18 feet total.

Thanks

Frank

From the top of the cabinets measure in 4' from both walls. This would give you two centered lines of lighting. Then you can space them every 4' or so down these lines. With your room size you can use 8 fixtures in this space. Now, this is an arbitrary spacing, and your individual likes and dislikes would dictate where they would go.
