I'm a newbie to diy projects and i'd like to ask advice from those more experienced than me. i refinished the porcelain tub in my bathroom less than two days ago. that project turned out beautifully. the problem is i got a few drips of epoxy on the hardwood floors right outside the bathroom. is there any way to remove the epoxy stains from my hardwood floors without ruining the flooring? a guy at home depot suggested that i use a diluted solution containing acetone, but i'm not sure that is a good idea. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

If you have a polyurethane finish, acetone will not harm it. If in doubt, test in inconspicuous place first. Take white rag or paper towel and moisten with acetone and blot from outside the drips toward the middle. Repeat applications may be necessary and a nudge with your fingernail or plastic spatula, taking care not to damage the floor. Acetone is smelly and flammable, so open window for extra ventilation and avoid sparks. Turn on the bathroom vent/fan to exhaust fumes.
