I have a York Stellar gas furnace (model P3UCD16N07601A) and an Aprilaire bypass whole house humidifier (model 550.) Also, central air.
I would like to replace my old mechanical thermostat and NEED to replace my broken duct-mounted humidistat.
I want to get a digital programable t-stat that will do both. Any recommendations on make and models that are compatible with my units?
Can I wire this myself?
Thank you for you imput and assistance!

the thermostat will be cake to wire, red to R, white to W, green to G, yellow to Y. thats all you should need, and you will already have those wires hooked up to your old one.
the honeywell vision pro 8000 has a humidity control i believe but you will have to look around to be sure.
personally i think that the ductmounted humidistat is the best bet, its easy to install, reads the return air from the house and its cheap.

Nomore,
The 8000 does not control the Humidifer.. The new IAQ model does.
Jonny,
Not knowing how many wire you have and if you are able to pull more wire up for a regular t-stat/humidistat system.. Otherwise, Honeywell has a new IAQ t-stat uses only 3 wires. and controls everything., Honestly, I think the IAQ may be an overkill for your system since it's not a variable speed two stage furnace.
So do the basic t-stat and humidistat on duct like Nomore said

Does the IAQ t-stat use an outdoor temp sensor to adjust humidity according to outside temp??
I have found this seperate unit that does have an o/door temp sensor.
http://www.ewccontrols.com/smartstat.htm
Also, does anyone know if the IAQ or 8000 can be controlled by X10 or other H/A protocal.
Thanks,
Loris.

The IAQ will control the humidifer, and do have an option to use an outdoor sensor.
You can either use the outdoor sensor to adj the humidity level in the home, or turn it off in manual mode. I use the outdoor sensor on mine, and been happy with it.
Also, the IAQ can control the variable speed blower in A/C mode to dehumid the house.
IAQ will not work with X10 system.
What are you thinking of doing with the X10 on the IAQ?

Just looking to call in changes to scheduled set backs or use internet to do the same. I don't have much invested in X10 yet, but see that there are a number of other protocals for the DIYer on the horizon.
Good to see a fellow Machead ;)

Loris.

When I got mine, Honeywell did ask me if I wanted to wait a bit longer for a diffrent model of IAQ to work that way, (not sure what for sure, I am guessing phone?)
I told them nah, I didn't need that extra stuff.
Yepper, Mac iBook G4 been pretty happy with it!

I got mine in Nov. I am not sure how long the wait was going to be.. I can ask the guy at Honeywell that I have contact with.
